First: Happy Memorial Day! To all those who serve or who have served: Thank you! My friends in the service are amazing people and I pray and wish them the best while they are away from their family and friends.
On to some new things... well, didn't really get to do many news things. I'm failing at this, but I'll get better.
Saw the new "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" today and I was impressed. The storyline was interesting, the acting was entertaining, and ERIC WHITACRE! I saw his name in the credits and flipped to my sister. He helped write the mermaid theme and conducted the choir. Brilliant choir writer. He stuff is gorgeous. Just check this out: STUNNING (The piece from Pirates) or just watch this:
"Lux Aurumque" I love it!
My sister did something new. (I know... it's suppose to be me doing the new things... oh well.) She carved a watermelon into a fish. Pictures will be up shortly. :)
Next week I will be participating in a Relay for Life event. I'm very much looking forward to it.
Until next time... ciao!

New York City and updates
NYC is nothing new to me, however on my latest visit my boyfriend, Matt, suggested we eat gyros from a street market stand. I've never had a gyro before... and I've never had lamb before, so I tried something new. Very tender and tasty, although I feel bad for the cute little lamb I was eating.
(Bad picture... but it's the only one of me and my first gyro.)
It was such a beautiful, breezy day in NYC when we went (last Saturday.) We checked out the Brain exhibit at the American Museum of Natural History. Very insightful to how the mind works - recommended for a rainy day in NYC and you've already been to the Metropolitan Museum of Art (which is cheaper to get into) a bunch of times.
Life updates:
+My sister, Marissa, graduated from college yesterday!
+My friend, Sarah, and I are officially going to LeakyCon this summer!
That's it for now. Will update more since the school year is ending soon.

Nothing "new" to report... just an update.
I was going to write this update on Sunday night around 10:30 p.m... but then my mom said something about President Obama is going to address the nation soon. So, I crowded around the TV with my family thinking for a good ten...twenty minutes he was going to report about aliens. No aliens, but a dead bad guy. But I'm sure you know that story.
I had my second concert yesterday as a choir director. My students did really well! Some flubs, but they kept going and had fun with their performance which to me are two very important things when performing a concert. We received many nice compliments about our performance and the music we performed. The best compliment I received was a student asking me if I was going to do chorus next year because he really enjoyed me as a chorus director. YAY!!! It's moments like that when I know I'm doing something right... because at an elementary age, my goal is to have them interested in performing music and enjoying it so they stick with it even if only as a hobby. I picked some challenging pieces for them and they did a fantastic job. I am very proud!
With chorus being over though... I'm going into full blown "get fit" time. I've been going to zumba classes (ZUMBA LOVE!!!) for a few months now and I love it, but now I'm going to start going more consistently and also go to more classes and be more aware of what I'm eating. I've been talking about loosing 20ish pounds for a few years now... and now I'm 24; in a few years I'll be getting married and having babies (well... maybe.) I want to make sure before that happens I am in great shape and don't have to worry about "shedding for the wedding." It'll be tough to keep the weight off, but I really need to build better habits. I found a new love for hummus, and I've renewed my love for apples... and pretty much any fruit with Nutella. Mmm! So, I'll put my gym membership to good use and hopefully by the end of summer and the year I'll have some good results and keep pushing through it after that.
Enough updates and ramblings from me.
Ciao!
